Pulse > Alerts is your church's alert inbox: booth computers going offline, computers running out of CPU, memory or disk, and live streams dropping, across all your computers and A/V devices. Each problem stays here until someone resolves it or it recovers on its own.

Where to find it

Open Pulse > Alerts in the sidebar. It works the same on the web app and in Tech Manager. You can also reach it from the active alerts number on Pulse > System Health. The page refreshes itself every 30 seconds; Refresh reloads it now.

See what needs attention

  1. Go to Pulse > Alerts.
  2. The Needs attention view opens first. When anything is open, a banner says how many alerts need attention on how many computers and names the worst one. A critical banner also shows the support phone number, 910-WORSHIP.
  3. Alerts are grouped into one card per computer, worst first. Click a computer's name to fold its card.
  4. Each row shows the problem, when it started, and a Check line with the first thing to look at. A problem that keeps coming back stacks into one row with a count (for example ×14) instead of fourteen rows; "Flapping" means it keeps going down and coming back.

The banner's severity chips (critical, warning, info) are also filters: click one to show only that severity.

Open an alert for the full story

  1. Click the alert's row. A panel opens on the right.
  2. What to check gives the full guidance for this kind of problem.
  3. Timeline lists every time it happened and cleared, and how many people were emailed.
  4. At the bottom, Get help with this opens Pulse > Support with the alert's facts drafted into a message (or opens the ticket already tracking it). "Open … in Pulse" opens that computer on Pulse > System Health.

Acknowledge, resolve or mute an alert

Each open row, and the panel, has three actions:

  • Acknowledge: "I saw it." The row dims and stays open, showing who acknowledged it. Unacknowledge undoes it.
  • Resolve: close it by hand. Alerts also close themselves when the problem recovers.
  • Mute: snooze this computer and this kind of alert For 1 hour, For 24 hours, Until after Sunday or For 7 days. A muted alert keeps its record but notifies nobody. It moves to the Muted view; click Unmute to bring it back.

Handle several alerts at once

  1. Tick the checkbox on each alert (or Select all in the bar that appears).
  2. Use the bar's Acknowledge, Mute or Resolve button. Resolve shows how many it will close.
  3. Clear empties the selection.

This is useful when one outage produced several alerts from the same booth.

Filter the list or look back

  1. Go to Pulse > Alerts.
  2. Choose a view: Needs attention (open alerts), Muted, or History (everything, newest first).
  3. Narrow it with Severity, Area (Hardware, System, Stream, Audio, Network, Other) or Booth. Clear removes the filters.
  4. In Needs attention, Resolved in the last 24 hours at the bottom shows what was closed recently.

Answer a restart offer

If a stream or recording that WorshipMetrics started stops unexpectedly, the booth can offer to restart it. The offer appears as an alert with two buttons: Leave it off and Restart (it names the stream or the recording). Nothing restarts until someone presses Restart, here or on the booth. The panel says who answered and whether it came back. Restart offers are turned on or off per booth in Settings > Production Switcher.

Choose how alerts reach you

Fleet alerts always go out by email. To be told in other ways:

  1. Go to Pulse > Alerts and click Notification settings.
  2. For each area (Hardware, System, Stream, Audio, Network, Other), switch on the ways you want to hear about it: Phone push, Desktop toasts, and, where offered, Text (SMS). Each switch saves the moment you click it.
  3. To be told about one kind of alert personally, open that alert and tick Notify me about alerts like this.

Phone push also needs to be turned on for each phone or browser: on the web, open Settings > Notifications and click Turn on notifications on this device. On iPhone or iPad, add WorshipMetrics to the Home Screen first. Desktop toasts come from Tech Manager on booth computers you are signed in to; switch them on in Tech Manager under Settings > Advanced with Desktop alert notifications, and use Send test notification to try it.

Get alerts by text message

Texts need two things: your confirmed mobile number, and Text (SMS) switched on for at least one area.

  1. On the web, open Pulse > Alerts > Notification settings.
  2. Under Sunday readiness texts, enter your mobile number, read the consent text, tick the box, and click Text me.
  3. Switch on Text (SMS) for the areas you want texts about.
  4. To stop, click Turn off, or reply STOP to any text.

If the window says "Text alerts are coming soon." instead, texts are not available for your church yet. The sign-up form is on the web app only; Tech Manager points you there.

Troubleshooting

I signed up for texts but none arrive

Open Notification settings. If it says no alerts text you yet, switch on Text (SMS) for an area. If it says text is on but nothing is sent until you confirm your number, finish the Sunday readiness texts form. If your number replied STOP, opt in again there.

The page says "Alerts aren't available here" or "Couldn't load alerts"

Sign in with your WorshipMetrics account and check the internet connection, then click Refresh. In Tech Manager, an older version may need updating.

An alert keeps coming back

Open it and follow What to check. If you need a person, click Get help with this or call 910-WORSHIP. Muting hides it but does not fix it.

Good to know

  • Everyone in your church sees the same inbox and can acknowledge, resolve or mute any alert.
  • Desktop toasts can be silenced for one booth PC in its Tech Manager Settings > Advanced, whoever is signed in.
  • For the health of one computer right now, use Pulse > System Health.
