Tech Manager is the WorshipMetrics app you install on the booth computer. It shows the same menu and pages as the web app, and it also does the work that needs to be in the room: talking to vMix, OBS and ATEM switchers, moving PTZ cameras, reading audio meters, capturing NDI, and driving Present's screens. It reports the booth's health to Pulse > System Health so you can watch it from anywhere.
What Tech Manager does that the web app cannot
The web app and Tech Manager share one menu and the same data. The difference is hardware: a browser cannot reach the gear on your booth's network, so anything that touches it runs through Tech Manager.
- Produce > Dashboard, Produce > Switcher and Produce > Camera Control control the booth directly in Tech Manager. On the web they control a booth through the cloud, and only while Tech Manager is running there. Without it the web pages say to open Tech Manager on the booth PC.
- Present's screen outputs and network scans on Patch > Devices run on the booth.
- Debug in the sidebar appears only in Tech Manager; Platform is web-only and only for WorshipMetrics staff.
Install Tech Manager
- On the booth computer, open a browser and go to
app.worshipmetrics.com/download. - Click Download for Windows and run the installer. It needs Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and does not need administrator rights.
- Open Tech Manager when it finishes.
The Authorize Tech Manager page you use while signing in also shows a Download Tech Manager for Windows link once it has made your code.
The first time Tech Manager opens, a welcome screen says "Your production booth, under control". Click Get Started.
- On Sign in to WorshipMetrics, click Open browser to sign in.
- Your browser opens Authorize Tech Manager. Sign in if asked, then click Generate activation code.
- Click Copy code, or read the code on screen.
- Back in Tech Manager, type the code into the box under step 2 and click Sign in.
- The browser page changes to Tech Manager is signed in. You can close that tab.
The code works once and expires 10 minutes after it is made. If it expired, click Open browser again for a new one. Signing in makes chat messages, edits and activity show under your name rather than the computer's.
If you see "Welcome aboard"
A brand-new church starts with a personal onboarding call before the workspace opens. The Welcome aboard screen lets you book that call, shows Onboarding call pending, and has Check for access. After the call your workspace opens; you get an email and the screen lets you in. Finish setting up your church appears if your church's sign-up is not finished. Sign out is at the bottom.
Run the setup wizards
After signing in, a church that has not set up Tech Manager yet may see Welcome to Tech Manager. It takes about three minutes and every step can be skipped and changed later:
- Enter your church name and click Get Started.
- Click Scan This Computer to record its specs.
- Pick the software you stream with (OBS, vMix or ATEM) and test the connection.
- Choose where recordings are saved, click Scan My Network to find AV gear, and test your internet speed.
- Add devices that are not on the network, then check the summary on Review and confirm.
- Click Set up my AV system → to keep going, or I'll add devices later (or Launch Tech Manager) to finish.
Move between steps with Continue → and ← Back.
Set up your AV system asks about your audio, video, lighting, network and computers (about 10 minutes, no question required). Pick the starting point closest to your booth, or Start blank. At the end it creates the devices and Go to Devices opens Patch > Devices.
Add this computer to your church's fleet
Enrolling is what lets the web app see and control this booth. Until it is enrolled, the Dashboard shows a "Cloud fleet not connected" strip with Open fleet enrollment.
- In Tech Manager, open Settings > Fleet Enrollment.
- Click Add this computer to … (the button names your church). The page then says the machine is enrolled.
- To use an enrollment code instead, click Enroll with a code instead (if there is no Add button, the code box is already showing). Paste the code, which starts with FL-, and click Enroll. To make a code, open the web app, go to Settings > Account, and under Enroll a remote device click Generate enrollment code. Codes expire in 30 minutes.
Unenroll this machine stops this computer reporting until you add it again.
Connect this device instead
The sign-in screen also has Connect this device instead, for setting up a new Tech Manager. It opens Connect to WorshipMetrics: click Get Activation Code, go to the address shown, sign in and enter the code. The app links itself and shows Device Connected.
Install an update
Tech Manager downloads updates itself. When one is ready, an Update ready strip appears above the page: "Version … is downloaded. It installs when you restart, or by itself the next time you close Tech Manager."
- Click Restart now to install it.
- Click Later to hide the strip. The update still installs when Tech Manager closes.
Tech Manager will not restart while Present is live on this computer; the strip says so.
Sign out
Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Sign out, then confirm.
Reconnect a booth whose cloud sync is paused
If Tech Manager was set up with a different WorshipMetrics installation, a warning banner across the top says so. Cloud sync and remote actions are paused, but your local work is kept and the booth controls (switcher, cameras, Present) keep working.
- Click Begin re-enrollment on the banner (Resume re-enrollment if you started before).
- Cloud sync is paused explains what happens. Click Begin re-enrollment.
- Click Open sign-in page, sign in in the browser, type the code it shows, and click Submit code. If you are already signed in on this machine, this step moves on by itself.
- Click Adopt this installation, wait a few seconds, and click Close when it says it reconnected.
Cancel at any step leaves sync paused and your local work untouched.
Open a page that is not in Tech Manager yet
If a menu row opens a page that Tech Manager cannot draw yet, it stops on a screen saying so. Click Stay here to remain in the app, or the button "Open (page name) in your browser" to open that page on the website. Your data is the same either way.
Troubleshooting
The sign-in code is rejected
Codes expire after 10 minutes and work once. Click Open browser again, generate a new code, and enter it right away.
The sidebar says "Not paired" or "Luminos offline"
The bottom of the sidebar shows whether this computer is connected and whether Luminos can reach it. Check the internet connection, then make sure you are signed in and the computer is enrolled under Settings > Fleet Enrollment.
Good to know
- One church can have several booth computers; each runs its own Tech Manager and shows up on Pulse > System Health.
- The Support button at the bottom of the sidebar opens Pulse > Support.
