Patches is your cable schedule: every connection in the system, with its cable label, signal, the device and port it comes from and the device and port it goes to. From here you add cables row by row, import a cable list, print a patch sheet, export a wiring diagram, and share a read-only schematic.

Where to find it

Open Patch > Patches. It works the same in the web app and in Tech Manager. It shows the same cables as Patch > Signal Map: a cable drawn on the map appears here, and a row added here appears on the map.

Read the cable schedule

On Patch > Patches, each row is one cable:

  • Cable — its label (for example SDI-001).
  • Signal — the signal type, with its colour.
  • From device, From port, Source connector, then To device, To port, Destination connector.

Click a column heading to sort by it. Type in Filter cables, devices, signal types… to narrow the list; the count shows how many connections match. A port shown as "(any)" means the cable lands on the device but not on a specific jack yet.

Click a device name to open that device's settings panel, or a port name to open that port's details.

Add a cable from the list

  1. Go to Patch > Patches and scroll to the last row, marked New.
  2. In the first picker, choose the source device, then its port.
  3. In the second picker, choose the destination device, then its port. The signal fills in from the source port.
  4. Click Add.

The pickers only offer ports that fit. A device with no ports offers "The device itself", so the cable binds to the device.

Change where a cable goes

  1. On Patch > Patches, hover the device name at the end you want to change and click the pencil.
  2. Choose the new device and port.
  3. Click Save, or Cancel to leave it.

Find a cable on the Signal Map

  1. On Patch > Patches, find the cable's row.
  2. Click Map. The Signal Map opens with that cable traced.
  3. Or click the eye button to open the map with only the From device and its connections showing.

Import a cable list

  1. Go to Patch > Patches and click Import.
  2. Paste rows from a spreadsheet into Paste rows from a spreadsheet, or click Choose a CSV file. Use one connection per row with a header row: source device, source port, destination device, destination port, and optionally a cable label and a signal. Headers like From / To or Src / Dst are recognised.
  3. Click Preview. Check which column holds each field, and check each row's status.
  4. If a port name is not found, tick Connect to the device itself for that end, or fix the name.
  5. Click Import (the button shows how many connections). Then click Done.

Device and port names must match your map. The import never creates new devices. To bring in a whole integrator drawing (devices and wiring together), use Import drawing on Patch > Devices instead.

Print or download the patch sheet

  1. Go to Patch > Patches and click Patch sheet PDF.
  2. Choose the page options: Orientation, Paper, Ink (Colour or Black & white), Church logo.
  3. Choose the order: Sort by, and Group by room with subtotals.
  4. Choose what to include: Signal column, From / To port columns, Connector columns, IP columns, Unlabeled cables, Device port list appendix.
  5. Click Download PDF, or Print instead.

If you typed a filter, the sheet only includes the cables that match. The church logo comes from Settings > Brand Kit.

Export a wiring diagram

  1. Go to Patch > Patches and click Wiring diagram.
  2. Pick Paper, Orientation, Fit (One room per sheet, Whole system or Fixed scale, tiled) and Ink.
  3. Choose what to include, for example Cable numbers at both ends, IP addresses, Power cables, Devices with no connections.
  4. Check the preview; use the arrows to page through sheets.
  5. Click Export PDF.

The diagram draws every device as a block with its ports, every cable numbered at both ends, a legend and a device index.

Share a read-only schematic

  1. Go to Patch > Patches and click Share….
  2. Under New link, pick how many days the link lasts.
  3. Tick Include IP addresses or Include make and model only if you need them. Leave them off for links you might forward outside the church.
  4. Click Create link. The link is copied to your clipboard.
  5. Click Done.

Anyone with the link sees device names, rooms, ports and cables, never serial numbers, MAC addresses, credentials or health. Links expire on the date shown. Under Active links, click Copy to copy a link again or Revoke to turn it off; Revoke all links turns them all off.

Finish the wiring

On Patch > Patches, when some cables land only on a device and not on a specific jack, the Finish the wiring button shows how many ends are left.

  1. Click Finish the wiring.
  2. For each cable end, pick the jack it really plugs into.
  3. Click Set (the button shows how many cable ends), or Leave them all on the device. Click Done.

Ends you leave are untouched; come back any time. A cable end on a device with no ports recorded cannot be set until the device has ports (see Find missing ports on Patch > Devices).

Troubleshooting

Patch sheet PDF and Wiring diagram are greyed out

There are no connections yet. Add cables in the New row, with Import, or on Patch > Signal Map.

Import is greyed out

There are no devices yet. Add them on Patch > Devices first; the import only connects devices you already have.

Import says a device or port was not found

The names in your sheet must match the names on your map exactly. Rename them in the sheet (or on Patch > Devices), or tick Connect to the device itself when only the port is missing.

The PDF did not download

If you see "Couldn't build the PDF — try Print instead", click Print instead in the same window.

How do I delete a cable?

Patches does not delete cables. Open Patch > Signal Map, click the cable and click Delete cable. Click Map on the row to find it quickly.

Good to know

  • Click Refresh to reload the list if someone else has been wiring at the same time.
  • A cable's label and signal can also be changed on the Signal Map by clicking the cable.
