The words WorshipMetrics uses, what each one means, and the older or outside words people sometimes use for the same thing. When a word below names a page, its place in the menu follows it.
Planning words: Service, plan, Time, Order
- Service — the recurring kind of gathering, such as "Sunday Service" or "Wednesday Night". A Service is never one date. Services are listed on Plan > Services.
- Plan — the menu module where planning lives (Plan in the sidebar). In a sentence, "a plan" or "Sunday's plan" means one dated occurrence of a Service, such as Sunday Service on Oct 5. Planning Center uses the same word the same way.
- Time — one gathering inside a plan, such as the 9am and the 11am, or a rehearsal. One plan can have several Times.
- Order — the first tab of a plan: its list of items, in the order they happen. Each row is a Plan Item (a song, a reading, a video, a header). Older words for this: rundown, run sheet, order of worship.
- Matrix — the grid on Plan > Services (the Matrix button on a Service's row) where you schedule people into positions across many weeks at once. Planning Center calls its similar view the Matrix too. It used to be called Schedule.
People and scheduling words: Team, position, request
- Team — a serving team under a Service, such as Band, Vocals or Production, with its positions (Drums, Lead Vocal, Camera 1). Set them up on Plan > Teams. "Team" never means a login or access group.
- Assignment — a person scheduled into a position on a plan. They are on the schedule as soon as someone picks them. They are emailed a request when someone presses Send on the plan's Teams tab or in the Matrix, and can then accept or decline it on People > My Schedule.
- Not notified yet — the mark on a person who is on the schedule but hasn't been emailed about it yet. It goes away when someone presses Send. The plan list and a plan's Teams tab count these people in their own amber "N not notified" chip. Older versions called these drafts or unsent requests.
- Pending — people who were asked to serve and haven't answered yet. People not notified yet are not counted as pending.
- Needed — a position on a plan that still has nobody in it. Positions that Planning Center staffs on an imported plan show no needed count.
- Team Chat — the church's own messaging, on People > Team Chat. It is not the same as asking Luminos for help.
Songs, media and presentations
- Songs and media — the church's reusable songs (Plan > Songs) and images, videos and other files (Plan > Media). Plan Items and playlists point at them; they never copy them.
- Presentation — what shows on the screens: a song's slides, announcements, a sermon outline. You run presentations in Present. An uploaded PowerPoint or PDF file is media, not a presentation.
- Playlist — an ordered set of presentations and media you can reuse.
Present words: output, look, layer, room
- Output — one screen Present sends to: a projector, a lobby TV, a stage monitor, an NDI feed, a web link, or a capture card. Outputs are grouped Audience and Stage.
- Audience and Stage — the two groups of outputs, and the two buttons that start them. Audience is what the congregation sees; Stage is what the people on stage see.
- Layer — one level of what an output shows: background, slide, timer, overlays, audio.
- Look — a saved choice of which layers reach which outputs, which a slide can switch to.
- Room — a shared place several computers can join so they run the same presentation together.
Publishing words: Library, Series, Reel, Signage
- Library — the church's published video library on Publish > Library: finished live streams and uploaded videos, which viewers watch on the church's public watch site. In Present, the left-hand list is also headed "Library"; there it means the church's songs and presentations.
- Series — a set of videos that belong together, such as a sermon series, whether they were uploaded or streamed. On Publish > Library > Series.
- Recording — the video captured from one streamed gathering.
- Reel — a short clip cut from a recording for social media, made on Publish > Reels. Older name: Worship Clips.
- Signage — the lobby and hallway screens on Publish > Signage. One screen is a display. This page used to be called Displays.
- Podcast — the Library's audio, published as a podcast feed, on Publish > Library > Podcast.
Live streaming words: Live Stream, Encoder, Destination, stream
- Live Stream — one scheduled live event a church sends out, such as Sunday's 11am. Scheduled and run on Publish > Live Streaming > Live Streams. This used to be called a Broadcast.
- Live Streaming — the menu area that holds Live Streams, Encoders, Destinations and Stream Health.
- Encoder — what sends your video in: OBS, vMix, a hardware encoder. Each encoder has an address and a stream key. Set up on Publish > Live Streaming > Encoders. Most churches need one; a church that streams two rooms at once can add more, each with its own key, booth computer and watch page. The first is the Default encoder, the one your church's watch page plays. This used to be called a Source.
- Destination — where a live stream goes: YouTube, Facebook, or a custom RTMP address. Set up on Publish > Live Streaming > Destinations.
- Stream — on its own, only the technical pipe: the stream key, Stream Health.
- Watch Page — the church's public page where people watch live and on demand. Its link, embed code, look and chat are on Publish > Watch Page.
Booth and support words: Tech Manager, booth, ticket
- Tech Manager — the WorshipMetrics desktop app that runs on the booth computer. It talks to the gear on the church's network (vMix, OBS, ATEM switchers, PTZ cameras, NDI) and drives Present's screens. The web app and Tech Manager show the same menu.
- Booth computer — a computer running Tech Manager. Its health shows on Pulse > System Health; it joins the church with Settings > Fleet Enrollment.
- Devices — the church's equipment list on Patch > Devices. Older name: Inventory.
- Signal Map and Patches — how the equipment is wired together, on Patch > Signal Map and Patch > Patches.
- Alert — something wrong with a booth computer, a device or a live stream, listed on Pulse > Alerts. Alerts are about equipment, not messages to a person.
- Support — the page where you get help: Pulse > Support. Luminos is the AI assistant inside it.
- Conversation — asking Luminos a question. Nothing is tracked.
- Ticket — a tracked problem with a status that a person on the WorshipMetrics team can work on. Older word: case.
